Region 8 Rally – January 14, 2020
I know you’ve been wondering about the April 22 – 26, 2020 Region 8 Rally in Fremont, NE. The location is Christensen Agricultural Park, 1203 W. 23rd Street in Fremont. Cheryl and I’ve been working hard lining up meals, tours, and entertainment. Fremont is known as the City of Pathfinders. The City was named for a famous explorer, John C. Fremont. We have a speaker lined up to tell us about Fremont’s history Thursday evening. There are “on your own tours” set up for the Louis May Museum and the Fremont Opera House. Sign-up sheets will be at the registration desk on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Friday, April 24th, we will be bussed to Boys Town in Omaha for another tour. Breakfast in your trailer that day as we depart at 8:30 am. There will be sandwich lunch upon our return to Christensen Field and the Club Presidents will be serving you.
Plan on arriving Wednesday, April 22, as we kick off the Rally on April 23. Breakfast will be provided Thursday morning. Each Club needs to bring eight (8) dozen cookies. The evening meal on April 23 is a pot luck meal. A caterer is providing two types of BBQ meat. Your Club president will tell you more about the pot luck. On Friday night, there will be a potato bar. On Saturday morning breakfast will again be provided. If you have something you want to sell, there will be a flea market Saturday after breakfast. There will be time to set up tables for the flea market. Lunch will be on your own and there is an afternoon tour, on your own, planned. Saturday night bring your dancing shoes as there will be live entertainment by a classic rock band.
Cheryl and I hope to see you there!
Region 8 Rally – February 6, 2020
Cheryl and I invite each of you to attend our 2020 Region Rally in Fremont, Nebraska April 22-26. A highlight of the rally includes a tour of the only National Historic Landmark District in Nebraska, Boys Town.
Sure, everyone has heard of Boys Town but have you ever wondered what it is and what do they do. Maybe you ve seen the Mickey Rooney movie about Boys Town. Have you heard of Father Edward J. Flanagan? By registering for the Region Rally, you will get a tour of Boys Town and learn more about this world-famous village!
